Amish Country & Lancaster Farms Tour from Philadelphia and Outlet shopping

Lancaster

Tour Overview

Spend the day exploring Pennsylvania’s Amish Country on a guided round-trip bus tour from Philadelphia. This experience offers a structured and informative look at the Amish way of life while traveling through the scenic countryside of Lancaster County.
The day begins with an 8:00 AM departure from central Philadelphia aboard a chartered motorcoach. As you travel through the region, the route passes rolling farmland, classic white barns, and quiet country roads where horse-drawn buggies are a common sight. Along the way, a guide shares insights about Amish traditions, local culture, and the history of the area.

Once in Amish Country, the tour focuses on both scenery and cultural understanding. Guests travel along rural backroads to observe farms, fields, and schoolhouses while learning about the Amish community and their daily life.
Midday includes a traditional family-style meal at the Plain & Fancy Restaurant located at Plain & Fancy Farm in Bird-in-Hand. The meal features classic Pennsylvania Dutch dishes such as fried chicken, roast beef, mashed potatoes, local vegetables, and desserts including shoofly pie.

In the afternoon, guests visit The Amish Farm and House (or a similar attraction). This guided visit explores an authentic 1800s farmhouse and surrounding property, including a barn with animals, a schoolhouse, and the grounds that reflect traditional Amish living. There is also time to browse shops offering Amish goods such as quilts, preserves, and baked items.
The tour concludes with a return drive to Philadelphia, arriving in the late afternoon. Throughout the day, transportation, timing, and logistics are organized so guests can focus on the experience while learning about one of the most distinctive cultural communities in the United States.

The final stop will be for shopping at the Tanger Outlet stores. Nestled in the popular Dutch Country, Tanger Lancaster is the area's top destination for open-air outlet shopping, featuring a coveted collection of top brands and local shops.
